Stone Age Settlement

As our topic is the Stone Age we have been looking at settlements and how they lived.
Each table worked co-cooperatively to design and make their own settlement.

Diwali celebration

As we studied Hinduism during British values week we worked with Mrs Bennison's class to celebrate Diwali. We looked at diya lamps (shape, colours and size) and used the TASC wheel to design our own. Once we had the design we were happy with we started to make them out of clay. They all have a special tear drop shape which was difficult to mould.
With our design sheet we then painted our lamps. These we painted in beautiful bright colours.

On Wednesday 11th November (Diwali 2015) we got together with year 3/4 and lit our diva lamps. As it was also Remembrance Day we had reflection time where the children thought about past and current people who have fought for our country and the people they knew who they would like to pray for.

Our trip to the museum

On Monday we visited The Manchester Museum to round off our rocks and fossils topic.

We looked at different fossils.

We had to solve a mystery. Who killed Stan the T-Rex?

We searched the museum for clues...

We looked at the different fact files of the 4 suspects.

The 4 groups came up with their own conclusion of what they think happened.

Then we went back into the museum after lunch to find out which artifacts and animals in there were dinosaurs.

Just before we got on the bus we had a lovely photograph taken together.

And one full of dinosaurs..
